The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan is keen to work for the improvement of sports in Pakistan to put the country’s softer image in front of the world.
Khan on Wednesday met PTI’s MNA and member of Punjab Football Council (PFC) Malik Amir Dogar in Islamabad and talked about Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) election with the nominated candidate for President of the federation.
It is pertinent to mention here the PFF will go through a presidential election in December and Dogar will be competing in it.
Mr. PM said that it is nice to see people coming forward to work for football and give it a new identity in the country.
He also assured him for government’s all-out support in uplifting the status of sports in the country. Khan was quick to add that there is a need to find out talented players who can represent Pakistan at International level.
On the request of Malik Amir Dogar, the Prime Minister has allowed him to meet a Football Delegation comprising of players, coaches, referees & Officials.
On the other hand, Khan stressed the need to build international standard football stadiums in all major cities of Pakistan to facilitate players in a proper way.
It is worth mentioning here that the President of FIFA and AFC are expected to meet Khan to have a word on the development of Football in Pakistan.
