Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday has ordered to conduct a forensic audit of Pakistan Sports Board, including all the Sports Federation.
A letter was issued declaring that under the special instructions of the PM, forensic audit of 14 federations will be conducted.
“It has been desired to conduct the audit of the accounts of national sports federations of grants-in-aid released for the last five years,” the letter says.
The auditor general has made a team to conduct a fiscal audit. The four-member audit team will examine sports board and the sports federations.
In the first phase, the audit team will examine PSB, while in the second, the Pakistan Hockey Federation’s forensic audit will be conducted.
Audit of Athletics, Billiards and Snooker, Tennis, Volleyball, Squash will take place in the third phase.
The Prime Minister is keen to work for the improvement of sports in Pakistan to put the country’s softer image in front of the world. Earlier, he also asked the Ministry of Inter-provincial Relations to submit a report related to the issues of Pakistan Hockey Federation.
