ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms, and Special Initiatives, Asad Umar disclosed that Prime Minister Imran Khan has called a meeting on sports this Thursday.
Speaking in ARY News’ show Powerplay, the Minister said PM Khan has finally taken notice of sports issues and he will chair a meeting on this matter.
“PM Khan has a lot of other important issues to deal with. Hence, he couldn’t able to focus on sports. But, now he has taken notice of the issues and called a meeting on Thursday,” he said.
“Minister for IPC Fehmida Mirza will give a presentation on sports issues in front of PM. I hope PM Khan will be doing regular meetings after this,” he added.
It must be noted here that Pakistan’s weak presentation at Tokyo Olympics 2020 sparked outrage in the country. Pakistanis demanded PM Khan-led government take sports seriously otherwise it will be finished sooner or later.
