Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif has announced that the federal government will bear all expanses for the treatment of Pakistani cricketing legend, Hanif Mohammad.
Former Pakistan’s batting great, Hanif Mohammad was admitted to hospital early on Sunday due complications from a recurring cancer.
The prime minister prayed for a speedy recovery of the cricketing hero and praised his precious services for the country.
Before prime minister made the announcement, Hanif Mohammad himself complained that there is no response from government officials and they are not even attending his calls for financial help.
“My son Shoaib has been calling everyone; Sindh’s governor, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and his brother Shahbaz Sharif, but no one answered,” he said.
“I consider myself an unfortunate person because of this.”
Hanif Mohammad, who was also known as ‘Little Master’, played 55 test matches for Pakistan in a 17-year long career. He scored 337 runs against West Indies in 1957/58 in a match saving effort, he spent 60 hours in the crease, which is still a record. His score of 337 runs is the highest scorer for any Pakistani batsman in a test inning till date.
