ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has extended his heartiest congratulations to Pakistan Junior Squash Team on winning the Junior World Squash Championship.
Pakistan managed to win the World Junior Squash Championship for the sixth time by defeating the top seed Egypt by 2-1 in the final.
Pakistan has won the title after eight years, they last won it in 2008 in Poland. Egypt was winning it consecutively for the last three years, however, the second seed Pakistan has put an end to Egypt’s ruling.
“It is indeed heartening to see that junior squash talent in Pakistan is prospering at the world level,” he said in a statement issued from the PM’s Office here.
The Prime Minister further said, “I hope and expect that this winning streak will not end here, and the team will now work even more hard so that they could bring even more laurels to the country and also the lost glory back to Pakistan.”
“I once again congratulate the junior squash team and wish them luck for their future matches,” he added.
