Watch: Ricky Ponting showcases his ‘favourite piece of memorabilia’


Sydney: Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting shared a picture of his old baggy green which he wore throughout his career and the new one he had received when he retired in 2012.

The new baggy green was gifted by his wife Rianna Jennifer Cantor and Cricket Australia. He posted a photo on Twitter and wrote. ” This is my favourite piece of memorabilia gifted to me by Rianna and Cricket Australia when I retired. A brand new cap on the left and my pride and joy on the right, looking a bit worse for wear after about 140 odd tests.”

Ponting is widely known as one of the greatest Australian captains and batsmen of all time, Ponting played 168 Tests and scored 13,378 runs at an average of 51.85.

He has also 41 Test centuries to under his credit. Regarded one of the best ODI captains as he won two back to back world cup in 2003 and 2007. He scored 13,704 runs which included 30 centuries in 375 ODIs.
