Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) incompetency and corruption has hurt the sport in the country miserably as Pakistan fell further in FIFA’s team ranking from 198 to 201.

It has been Pakistan’s lowest ranking as they are just above four countries of the world.

Football in Pakistan has been dented due to the power rift between the two factions of the football federation, which initiated before the presidential election in June, 2015.

Pakistan have not participated in any international tournament due to the power struggle between faction of Faysal Saleh Hayat, who has been president of the federation since 2003, and Lahore High Court backed faction of retired Justice Asad Munir, who was appointed as PFF Administrator.

Lack of participation in any sort of international football event since March, 2015, has cost the sport of football in the country heavily.

Football activities are at a halt in Pakistan, which is frustrating for local talent and as well as for fans of the sport.

On the other hand, India have been working hard to promote the sport in their country and improved their ranking to 101.

Brazil have achieved the first spot in the ranking for the first time since 2010.

Top 10 teams:
1. Brazil

3. Germany
