The inaugural edition of the PSL was a blockbuster hit, consequently, preparations for the second edition of the league has already started. Some dates of February 2017 have been discussed with Emirates Cricket Board to reserve venues for the next edition of the PSL.
Najam Sethi, the PSL Governing Council Chairman, along with a couple of other members, visited Dubai to meet the local authorities to communicate them the plan for the next season of the PSL and reserve venues without any haphazard.
PCB faced some issues during the first edition of the PSL as the dates were clashing with the Masters Cricket League and the board was uncertain whether they will be able to conduct it in UAE or they have to hold it in Qatar.
Sethi told Express Tribune that there hasn’t been any formal written agreement with the concerned authorities for reservation of venues; however, a verbal exchange of agreement has already taken place. Written agreement will be exchanged with the concerned authorities shortly.
Najam Sethi seems determined and looking to have a improved edition of the PSL in 2017, he told, “The first edition of the PSL was a huge success financially as well as in terms of audience, and we’re hopeful that the second edition will be bigger and better,”
He further said, “Preparations for the second edition have begun and we’ll deliver something even more exciting this time around.”
