Karachi: President of Pakistan Arif Alvi has announced ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz’ for legendary leg-spinner, Late Abdul Qadir.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Saturday and tweeted. “Proud moment for Pakistan cricket fraternity! President of Pakistan has announced Sitara-e-Imtiaz for Late Abdul Qadir.”
“The great leg-spinner who passed away on 6 September 2019 took 236 wickets in 67 Tests for Pakistan,” it added.

PCB also congratulated squash championFarhan Mahbooob, Kabbadi player Mohammad Irfan and Paralympic athlete Haider Ali for their nomination for Pride of Performance Award.

It must be noted that Qadir passed away due to a sudden heart attack in his hometown Lahore last year in September.
