South African skipper, Faf Du Plessis is likely to lead the World XI side during the three-match T20 series in Lahore against Pakistan, Dawn News reported.
World XI team has not been revealed yet as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and International Cricket Council (ICC) officials are currently working on the financial and insurance aspects for the touring players.
Najam Sethi held a press conference on Monday, where he stated that he will reveal names of World XI players in 72 hours.
However, the new chairman of the PCB told that there will be players from seven different teams in touring World XI team.
“Players from England, New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Zimbabwe have agreed to play the World XI tournament in Pakistan. India, however, has declined to send players, he told.
Rashid Latif expressed his displeasure that no player from the neighbouring country, India, is traveling to Pakistan to help international cricket revive in the country.
