Pakistan Super League (PSL) chairman Najam Sethi unveiled the ‘Spirit Trophy’ in Dubai on Monday in presence of captains and managements of all five franchises.

The trophy for the second edition of the league is truly beautiful. The new trophy dazzles with the innovative Crystal Fine Rocks- a product made using over 50,000 double pointed crystals from Swarovski.

Sitting on the pinnacle is the Shooting Star, a multi-faceted crystal sculpture made with precision cut technology. The trophy has taken four months to get ready from being approved to final touch.

Before unveiling the trophy, Najam Sethi thanked Swarovski, the maker of PSL 2017’s trophy, for making such a ‘gorgeous piece of art’.

He also revealed that Swarovski has also made three more trophies for best batsman, best wicketkeeper and the best bowler which are named after Hanif Mohammad Trophy, Imtiaz Ahmed Trophy and Fazal Mehmood Trophy respectively.

Najam Sethi once again emphasized that the final of this year’s PSL will be played in Lahore. “At 11 o’clock in the morning there will be a meeting with franchise owners and all the foreign players where I will give details of the preparations we are making for security and safety for Lahore which will be endorsed for your satisfaction by the ICC and other players’ associations,” he stated.

Brand ambassador of PSL, Ramiz Raja also addressed media and said that everything related to this league is five-star.

“Everything related to PSL is five-star; the trophy, the teams, the managers, the coaches. I feel privileged to be a part of such a dynamic process,” he said. “It took a lot of hard work to put everything in place in the first edition. Plenty of people had their doubts if it will take-off, thankfully it did with flying colors.”
