Dubai: Lahore Qalandars batsman Umar Akmal says, showing a better performance in PSL will help him perform even better in the coming WT20 matches.
While playing against the Gladiators on Monday, Umar made 93 in 40 balls, he said PSL is a nice step towards improving our International cricket.
When asked about not completing his century, he replied, I am not at all disappointed at this, though it was a big innings and if I had scored a century it would have been the first century of PSL and my name would have been amongst the top ranking world class players.
Umar disclosed how his team performed well despite Chris Gayle’s injury. Though Gayle is a big name but we not entirely dependent on him. We are a team and we had to prove that we could also win without his presence. This is a good sign that we won in his absence, now when he comes back we will be a real threat for other teams.
Umar further said, the whole credit goes to the team management, despite two continuous defeats they remained calm and trusted us. They told us that we were capable to win and we went ahead with the same determination to play. Our Objective is to be a success and win in PSL.
