Punjab take on Balochistan in Pakistan Cup opener


The Pakistan Cup will begin today with Balochistan taking on Punjab at the Iqbal stadium in Faisalabad. The 50 over domestic tournament will feature 5 teams and will include top stars from Pakistan cricket and upcoming young talent.

In today’s match Balochistan will be captained by Pakistan’s ODI skipper Azhar Ali while the Punjab side will be led by the experienced campaigner Shoaib Malik. The match will be one to watch out for because many exciting and exuberant players will be on show and for many this is a chance to prove their worth and showcase their talent.


Balochistan have a nice blend of youth and experience and they have some quality T20 players in the shape of Sohail Tanvir, Umar Gul, Mohammad Nawaz and others. They are equally equipped in all departments of the game and can pose a threat to other teams.

On the other hand Punjab brought in the tainted opener Salman Butt during the draft held a few days back. The sides has a lot to offer and if they can strike the right combination they will be a force to reckon with in the tournament.
