Lahore Qalandars seek revenge from Islamabad United

After losing a close encounter against Islamabad United on February 23rd, Lahore Qalandars are eyeing revenge when both teams will take on each other in the seventeenth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Lahore today.

Qalandars are also coming with a convincing 37-run win against the Quetta Gladiators courtesy Ben Dunk’s 93 off just 43 balls which included 10 massive sixes and Samit Patel’s all-round performance.

On the other hand, Islamabad United have lost their last two matches against Karachi Kings and Gladiators and one got abandoned against Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi.

United’s batting have been in great touch but their bowlers have let the team down on both occasions as they didn’t defend scores of 180. The two-time champions bowling department is strengthened after the arrival of Dale Steyn but the other pace bowlers will hold the key as their support will be needed.

Wicket-keeper batsman Luke Ronchi has once again shown his brilliance this season as he has smashed 194 runs in five matches with the highest score of 85 not out. They are also lucky as their young captain Shadab Khan is contributing in all departments, he has scored 153 from 4 innings, with a best of 54*.

Qalandars will again be hoping that their batters will perform just like last night. All eyes will be on Chris Lynn who has not fired up to the expectations for Lahore in the last four matches.

Fakhar Zaman has also not continued to build his innings after getting constant starts. Samit is also their key player as he has given stability in both batting and bowling. Hopes will also be pinned on young Shaheen who has six wickets so far in the competition.

The match will begin at 7 pm at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
