Quetta beats Multan in last-over thriller

DUBAI: Hasan Khan hit a six off the second last ball of the match to take Quetta Gladiators to a two-wicket win over Multan Sultans in the 17th clash of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) here on Wednesday.

Skipper Multan Sultans, Shoaib Malik (65 off 43) led his side from the front as they reached to a steady total of 152-5 in 17th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) here on Wednesday.

Malik with his super exciting innings laced with four boundaries and three sixes pulled Multan out of pressure as their openers were fallen earlier on just three runs after they were put to bat first.

In form Sangakkara with his reckless short caught on the first ball of the innings without getting off the mark. Nawaz was the man who brought a crucial breakthrough for Quetta.

Ahmed Shehzad followed his partner immediately in the second over scoring just one run off seven balls. Quetta were off to good start as they struck the strong opening pair of this tournament so far, earlier on just three runs.

Night watchman Sohail Tanvir rescued Multan quiet nicely after he was dropped on 0. He made  valuable 19 runs at critical situation hitting a six and a boundary.

Sohaib Maqsood who played winning knock for Multan last night, added just 27 runs before he was leg-before-wicket off Laughlin .

Rose whitely scored 16 runs while Pollard ended with 16 runs not out.

Muhammad Nawaz, Ben Laughlin, Shane Watson, Anwar Ali and Rahat Ali took one wicket each.

Multan who is leading the points table with 9 points, looking forward to pave their way to the play-offs after winning this match while on the other hand Quetta (3 points) is struggling on 5th slot having fewer chances to make their position better as the tournament has entered in the second round.
