Silverstone: Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen clocked the fastest time on the second and final day of testing at Silverstone on Wednesday, days after the British Grand Prix.
The 2007 world champion posted a best lap of 1 min 30.665sec, blowing away the 1:31.290 of McLaren’s Fernando Alonso in what was the fastest time in Tuesday testing at the famous circuit.
Reigning champion Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes grabbed pole last weekend with a searing lap of 1:29.287 and went on to win the race to close the gap on team-mate Nico Rosberg to just one point at the top of the drivers’ standings.
