Karachi: India’s left-handed batsman Suresh Raina has announced retirement just minutes after India’s greatest captain MS Dhoni confirmed his retirement.
The 33-year-old took to Instagram and confirmed his decision. “It was nothing but lovely playing with you, MS Dhoni. With my heart full of pride, I choose to join you in this journey. Thank you India.”
He made his debut at the age of 18 against Sri Lanka in 2005. He last played for India in July 2018 and had failed to make it to the squad for the 2019 ICC World Cup.
He played 18 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20 internationals, scoring 7,988 runs. He was part of the team that won the 2011 ICC World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy.
