Indian middle order batsman Suresh Raina has been named as the captain of the new IPL franchise Rajkot which has been named as Gujarat Lions. Raina has vast experience of playing IPL as he was a potent member of the Chennai Super Kings in the previous seasons before the franchise was banned from participating.
Raina is also the top run getter on the all time list of leading run scorer in Indian Premier League and also holds the unique record of never missing a IPL match since it’s inception in 2008.
Australian veteran player Brad Hodge has been appointed as the head coach of the side who is currently playing in the Masters Champions League.
The 2016 edition of IPL will begin on the 8th of April and will conclude on the 29th of May 2016.
