Ramiz Raja is also in the race to become new PCB chairman: sources


KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan is considering nominating former Test cricketer Ramiz Raja and ex governing board member Jawad Sajid for the next Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman. 

According to the sources, PM Khan will make the final decision regarding the extension of the current PCB chairman Ehsan Mani on Monday. Meanwhile, he is considering the names of Raja and Sajid to nominate in Board of Governors (BoG) for PCB’s chairmanship if Mani discontinues.

PM Khan has named Justice (Retd) Azmat Sheikh as election commissioner. 10 BoG members will vote for two candidates to make a new chairman.

Mani’s tenure from BoG is ending on August 24 and from PCB’s chairmanship on September 4.

Remember, Pakistan Super League (PSL)’s franchises are in favor of Mani’s extension as PCB chairman.
