Ramiz Raja surprised by Amir, Asif’s exclusion from WC squad

Pakistan’s former Test cricketer and renowned cricket commentator Ramiz Raja thinks that Mohammad Amir and Asif Ali should have been included in the 15-man squad for the World Cup, slated to start from May 30 in England and Wales.

Ramiz reacted on Pakistan’s World Cup squad which was announced on Thursday and said that keeping Amir and Asif as reserved players for World Cup is not a good choice by the team management.

“Pakistan team for WC 2019 & England tour covers most bases. A squad of 17 with Amir & Asif as two outside the announced WC Squad. Both will be on trial. Is that good, not sure cos I would have picked both for WC,” he tweeted.

The young pace sensation Mohammad Hasnain’s inclusion in the team for the mega event on the basis of pace also surprised the former cricketer. “Husnain is in for pace. Interesting!!” he added.

It is pertinent to mention here that the selection committee’s head Inzamam-ul-Haq announced 17-member World Cup squad with Amir and Asif as reserved players.
