Pakistan’s former Test cricketer Ramiz Raja wants ‘Tennis Ball Cricket’ to get highlighted at the bigger platform after watching Haris Rauf, covering a journey from a Tenni-Ball pacer to heroics in the Big Bash League (BBL).
Raja took to twitter to highlight Rauf’s performance the other night when he took a hat-trick against Sydney Thunders while representing Melbourne Stars. Meanwhile, he also acknowledged the role of Tennis Ball cricket in throwing talented players forward.
“Harris Rauf is yet another amazing Pakistan fast bowling story of how streets of the country are throwing up great talent via tennis ball street cricket. Time to officially acknowledge this unorthodox system. Want tennis ball bowling to feature in the Cricket academy curriculum,” he tweeted.
It must be noted here that Rauf used to play Tennis ball cricket at the streets of Rawalpindi before getting into the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
