Rashid Latif doesn’t want Sharjeel, Khalid to make comeback

Pakistan’s former wicket-keeper batsman Rashid Latif doesn’t want banned Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif making comeback in the national side.

“What is the need to bring them back. We have already set the trend earlier and can’t afford more,” Latif said while talking to the media in Karachi.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sahrjeel Khan’s match-fixing ban will be lifted in August. He got banned from international cricket after being caught off match-fixing along with fellow opening batsman Khalid Latif during Pakistan Super League (PSL) edition 2.

Sharjeel has earlier requested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for relaxation in his ban and to allow him to play domestic cricket which was turned down by the cricket board.

Now, both parties have not contacted each other for any further progress. However, Sharjeel will have to undergo a rehabilitation process.

The left-handed batsman Sharjeel Khan had represented Pakistan in a Test, 25 ODIs and 15 T20Is while Khalid played five ODIs and 13 T20Is with Pakistan’s star on the chest.
