Lahore: Former Test cricketer Rashid Latif met national hockey players and team management via teleconference on Wednesday.
Ex-cricketer motivated the hockey players and guided them on how to remain in touch when there is no active game around. “You need to be mentally strong, whether you play or not because mental strength is important to achieve your set targets,” he told players.
Latif briefed players about the importance of physical fitness being an athlete. “Fitness is very important for an athlete. In the modern-day world, fitness is key to win games,” said cricketer-turned-analyst.
Moreover, Latif wished that Pakistan hockey will be back on winning track as soon as possible. “I am confident that hockey will once again return to winning ways soon,” he concluded.
It must be noted here that Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is organizing motivational sessions for players via teleconference. The motive behind video conferences is to pump up players in these difficult times.
