Peshawar Zalmi will play their second game of PSL 2017 today against a revamped Karachi Kings’ side, who somewhat failed to make their mark in the inaugural season of the league. They ended up at fourth position last year and won only two games in the campaign.

Karachi Kings will take the field this time with a new captain Kumar Sangakkara and veterans like Mahela Jayawerdene in the team. The Kings have the firepower in shape of Chris Gayle, Keiron Pollard, Ravi Bopara and Ryan McClaren. On the other hand, they have these emerging players Abrar Ahmed, Amad Alam and Kashif Bhatti, who must be overjoyed by sharing dressing room with the greats of the game and must be eager to prove themselves.

Apart from emerging and foreign stars, Karachi Kings have a talented bunch of local players with Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim, Usama Mir and Shahzaib Hasan in the ranks. ARY owned franchise seems very well balanced in this edition of the league.

Peshawar Zalmi are scarred, despite of living up to the hype, they lost their opening encounter against Islamabad United. Darren Sammy led side failed to defend a revised target of 173 runs in 18 overs. Kamran Akmal and Dawid Malan were the star performers for the franchise as they contributed 122 runs together for the second wicket.

Due to their performance in the first match, it is unlikely that Peshawar Zalmi will make any changes in their squad. However, they may like to call Wahab Riaz in the playing XI in place of Junaid Khan, whose one over changed the course of the game. The Men in Yellow would like their veteran allrounders, Shahid Afridi and Darren Sammy to show their worth in the game.

Key Players
Shahzaib Hasan may not enjoy the limelight in presence of Gayles and Sangakkaras, but he can be the game changer for the Kings. His hitting ability is often underrated.

For Peshawar Zalmi, Kamran Akmal can again be the key component, he was middling the ball wonderfully well last night and he can repeat his performance today against Karachi Kings.

The match will start at 9 PM (PST).
