Karachi: Former Pakistan captain and wicket-keeper batsman Rashid Latif has termed Mohammad Rizwan as the perfect choice as a wicket-keeper for Tests and ODIs.
Rashid, while speaking to media in an online session, said that former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and Kamran Akmal are fit for T20Is only.
“Mohammad Rizwan is the perfect wicket-keeper for Tests and ODIs, Sarfraz Ahmed and Kamran Akmal are fit for the T20,” he said.
Rashid also emphasized on the fact that due to the ongoing crisis that has formed due to coronavirus pandemic has also affected the economic status of the players.
“Due to the virus, it will take time for the sports to get back to normality but due to this many players have suffered financial crisis and are unemployed,” he added.
He also requested PCB to review their policy on shutting down the departmental cricket. ” PCB should revisit their policy and it is likely that will be restored but PCB can take a u-turn on this matter. There is no harm in having departmental cricket along with regional cricket as it gives job security to cricketers,” he maintained.
The 51-year-old also revealed that there are reports that some players have reservations on online fitness Tests.
It must be noted that centrally and provincially contracted players will undergo fitness Test via online amid nationwide lockdown.
