Rizwan surpasses skipper Babar to register a T20I record

KARACHI: Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan has retained his top position as the highest run-scorer in T20Is so far this year.

Rizwan, with 592 runs in 11 T20Is, is on top of the list followed by Babar Azam who has scored 439 runs in as many innings.

The right-handed batsman had grabbed the opportunity to play as an opener in T20Is with both hands and proved his mettle in New Zealand. He scored his maiden T20I century against South Africa at the home ground which made him only the second Pakistan to score a century across all three formats.

Rizwan was one of the most critical players in Pakistan before his massive turnaround after he was promoted up in the batting order.
