Brazil and Real Madrid’s great, Roberto Carlos is latest addition in the glittering list of footballers that will be touring Pakistan for an exhibition match later this summer.
He will join his former countryman Ronaldinho, Robert Pires, Luis Boa Morte, David James, Nicolas Anelka and George Boateng to play an exhibition game in Pakistan organized by Leisure League Pakistan.
One of the greatest left-back of all time believes that it is a wonderful project and he wanted to be part of it as soon as he came to know about it.
“Ronaldinho is a friend of mine. When he told me about this fantastic project which is being organized by the World Group and the head of the organization Mr Mehmood Trunkwala, I had no hesitation in saying that I wanted to join the tour,” he told.
He also talked about his famous free kick goal that he scored against France in 1997 and said with a smile that who knows Pakistani scientists will be working to decode that goal in the next ten years.
“Who knows, maybe ten years down the line scientists in Pakistan will be studying a goal I score on this tour!” he said.
Carlos is impressed with the initiative of developing this game in Pakistan.
“I am impressed that the World Group, together with Leisure Leagues, are so dedicated to Pakistani football development that they went to great lengths to organize the tour,” he added.
