Real Madrid’s star striker Cristiano Ronaldo is on the verge of signing a new contract with Real Madrid as the club wants him to retire with the Los Blancos.
Ronaldo’s contract negotiations started over a month ago because his current contract ends in 2018 and the club wants to extent it to 2020 or maybe even 2021. Ronaldo signed his last extension with the club in 2013. The club president believes that Ronaldo should be kept at the club for a few more years and put an end to all rumors associated with him moving out of Madrid.
“Florentino has no option but to renew or sell. That’s why he feels that keeping CR7 is still, as of now, the best plan”, says the article published in El Confidencial.
Ronaldo’s 47 goals in 44 games have restored the faith of his fans and they are believing once again the striker still has the potential to deliver for his side although during the start of the season, under Rafa Benetiz, things did go a bit peer shaped. He has played nearly every minute of the league and Champions League this season which is another example of his form and fitness as a player.
In the seven seasons at Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo has picked up seven titles with the club: one Champions League, one Liga, two Copas del Rey, one Supercopa de España, one European Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
