Known for scoring massive runs at the domestic level, Fawad Alam accomplishes yet another milestone when he completed his 12,000 runs in First-Class (FC) cricket.
The left-handed batsman raised the bat for his 33rd FC century and fourth 200 on Day 3 of ninth round in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy against Southern Punjab.
Fawad’s run tally has now reached to 12067 runs in 164 matches. He has joined an elite list of batsmen who have the best average in FC cricket around the world.
With an average of 56.65, Fawad is at fourth in the list behind India’s Ajay Sharma (67.46), Australia’s Steve Smith (58.45) and India’s Sachin Tendulkar (57.84).
The out-of-favor batsman made his Test debut in 2009 against Sri Lanka. Despite scoring 168 runs in his first match, Fawad was never given a chance after that series.
