The owner of Karachi Kings, Mr Salman Iqbal is hopeful to pick the best possible players to establish strong combinations in the team that can put up an impressive show during the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Mr Salman Iqbal while talking to the media ahead of the PSL draft said that there are world’s top class players in the player’s pool and they will try to go with best possible choice.
“Our aim is to build strong combinations by picking quality bowlers and batsmen,”he said.
He announced to retain the all-rounder Imad Wasim as their captain recognizing his leadership skills in the last edition of the league.
“Imad led Karachi [Kings] brilliantly last year hence he will remain our captain,” he said.
The owner of the most popular franchise of the PSL said that Colin Ingram, Colin Munro and Babar Azam will add power to their batting line.
“We will try to give stiff competition with our batting having world’s top class batsman like Munro, Ingram and Babar,” he said.
He applauded the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) efforts of taking the PSL to new heights and let it compete with world’s top leagues including the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“All praises for the PCB for giving their cricketing league a dominant identity,” he said.
On the other hand, Karachi Kings’ president Wasim Akram said that his team is the most loved franchise of the PSL so they will try to choose best possible squad to provide their fans ample entertainment in the event,” he stated.
Pakistan’s former left-arm pacer and captain further said that they will try to adopt never-say-die approach as it is the best way to gain achievements.
“We will try to compete strongly and will not give up till the last ball is bowled,” said Akram.
It is pertinent to mention here that the fourth edition of the PSL is scheduled from February 14 to March 17 with last eight matches to take place in Lahore and Karachi.
