Sana Mir named in the ICC Women's ODI team of the year

The top-ranked women’s ODI bowler, Sana Mir has been named in the ICC Women’s ODI team of the year, announced on 31st December by the ICC.

Pakistan’s former skipper, Mir shined with the ball throughout the year and took 19 wickets in just seven 50-over games for her team.

Earlier, the right-arm off-break bowler’s delivery to Ireland’s Laura Delany in the Women’s World T20 was voted as the Play of the Women’s World T20 2018.

Mir is the only Pakistani player to feature in the Women’s ODI team of the year, whereas, none of Pakistan’s women cricketers could get into the ICC Women’s T20I team of 2018.

New Zealand’s seasoned all-rounder Suzie Bates is named as the captain of ICC Women’s ODI team of the year, while India’s Harmanpreet Kaur is given the captaincy of ICC Women’s T20I team of the year.
