Islamabad: Sana Mir says “I have resigned only as Pakistan women T20 captain but will continue to lead the ODI team.” She said she wanted to handover this responsibility to some young player who should be groomed for captaincy for the future.

While speaking to the media she said, I have proposed two to three names to PCB for the new captain, I still have two years cricket left in me and will try my best to help the women team as much as I can. She further said, in Pakistan players are awarded contract and money but no powers which ultimately harms the team. There is a great need to make the players powerful to compete with other teams.

Sana Mir said, Pakistan women cricket team has recently received lot of recognition but we still need to do a lot more to promote women cricket in the country for which all institutions will have to play their individual role.
