Pakistan’s former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for honoring legendary players of the game.
On an invitation of the PCB, Sarfraz reached National Stadium Karachi during Day 4 of Pakistan vs Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, he talked to the media and thanked PCB for honoring him and other former cricketers on the occasion.
“It is good to see PCB stepping up and respecting their former cricketers. I am here to witness this historic Test in my city and I welcome visitors,” Sarfraz said.
Sarfraz, who was removed from the national team’s captaincy earlier this year, is happy to see the biggest format of the game returning back to the country. “I think its a great achievement. This will give a boost to the entire set-up of cricket in Pakistan,” he maintained.
To a query about missing the team on this historic occasion, Sarfraz said every player wants to play at home ground but its a part of life.
“See, every player wants to play at home ground, in front of the home crowd. I hope our team wins this Test to end this event on a stronger note,” he concluded.
It must be noted here that former cricketers including Javed Miandad, Saleem Yousuf and Rashid Khan also witnessed these historic moments.
