Pakistan limited-over formats captain, Sarfraz Ahmed admitted that the team is going through a rough patch due to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot fixing row.
Five players, which include Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Nasir Jamshed, Mohammad Irfan and Shahzeb Hasan have already been provisionally suspended from all formats of cricket due to their alleged involvement in corrupt activities.
Pakistan are currently touring West Indies and it is an important outing for the Men in Green as their direct qualification for the World Cup 2019 is heavily depended on the outcome of the ODI series.
However, Sarfraz Ahmed showed determination to win the series and give boost to upset Pakistan cricket fans.
“I don’t want to comment on the PSL issue but yes, we are going through tough times and we need to do well in the upcoming series to boost our people,” Sarfraz told the media.
Pakistan need one win in the series to maintain their eighth position in ODI ranking, whereas, a whitewash in the series will take them to seventh spot in the ranking and will secure their direct berth in the next World Cup.
