Sarfraz receives congratulatory messages after retained as captain for WC 19


The things have settled down quite nicely for skipper Sarfraz Ahmed as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday retained him as captain of the team in upcoming World Cup scheduled to start from May 30 in England and Wales.

After PCB’s chairman, Ehsan Mani officially announced Sarfraz to lead Pakistan in World Cup, the skipper started getting congratulatory messages from his supporters and teammates.

Test batsman Azhar Ali through his official Twitter account congratulated Sarfraz and said that he has good leadership skills which will help the team show powerful performance in the upcoming event.

He said “Congratulations Sarfraz! I have a strong belief that with your leadership and a very talented Pakistan team will bring World Cup to Pakistan just like we did in champions trophy. May Allah be with you and Pakistan team, Ameen.” In reply, Sarfraz thanked his compatriot. “Inshaa Allah aameen Thanku bhayya,” he said.

Veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik also congratulated his captain with a hope to make the upcoming world cup special for cricket fans in Pakistan.

“Mubarak Sarfraz Ahmed on the World Cup captaincy announcement. May we win this cup like we did last time in England,” he tweeted.

Hafeez, who probably will be in Pakistan’s squad for World Cup 2019, wished his teammate best of luck being a captain of the national side. “Congratulations Sarfraz Ahmed all the best mate,” he said.

It merits mentioning here that the World Cup will start from May 30 in England and Wales.
