Sarfraz sets a new wicket-keeping record at Johannesburg Test

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed have surpassed Adam Gilchrist and MS Dhoni to become the wicket-keeper captain with the most number of catches in a match.

The wicket-keeper batsman took 10 catches in the third Test against South Africa at Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. He took five catches in the first inning and five in the second.

2014: MS Dhoni vs Australia (eight catches)

2004: Adam Gilchrist vs Sri Lanka (eight catches)

1998: Alec Stewart vs South Africa (eight catches)

The skipper did not score big runs in the Test series but managed to set a record of highest number of dismissals behind the stumps.

On Tuesday, South Africa whitewashed Pakistan winning the third and last Test by 107 runs at Wanderers.

Starting the day on 153 for three, Pakistan lost their remaining seven wickets for 120 runs to be bowled out for 273.
