Lahore: In order to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day in a suitable manner, Sports Board Punjab (SBP) will hold a number of events to in various cities of Punjab.
According to Associated Press of Pakistan, Director Admin Sports Board Punjab Muhammad Anees Sheikh and Deputy Director Admin Tariq Wattoo, in a joint statement on Monday, said that SBP is going to arrange an exhibition of floats in Punjab’s major cities including Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi etc on August 14.
“Trophies and gold medals won by Pakistan’s star players in different games will be displayed to motivate the youth of the rural and remote areas. Several sports figures and record holders will also accompany the floats. Their presence will definitely inspire the potential youth of the country,” they added.
They duo said that every nation celebrates such national days with great enthusiasm and Pakistan must do the same which is why Punjab Board has taken such measures for the upcoming Independence day.
“Sports Board Punjab has also completed arrangements to celebrate Jashan-e-Azadi on August 14 in a suitable fashion. A grand Sports Gala is set to start on August 3,” they explained.
SBP has been instrumental in reviving the sports culture in the region during the last five years by organizing a various international and national sports events.
“It’s Sports Board Punjab’s efforts due to which the sports activities have been restored across the Punjab province,” they maintained.
