Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has praised the way Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero has performed this season and he believes that if the striker can continue his good run of form he might as well end up in the same bracket as Messi and Ronaldo.
“If he continues scoring three goals every game, he’d be very near them!”, said Pellegrini according to Manchester Evening News.
“The most important thing for him is to keep in the same way he’s been doing this season and not to have important injuries for a long time. If he plays around 29 or 30 games this season, after just one injury which was with the national squad, that’s important if he’s going to be one of the top players.”, he said.
“It’s an important amount of goals, and also I think this year he is just one two behind Kane and Vardy so he is fighting to be the top scorer in this year also. And the way that he is playing, especially in the last game, I am sure that it will be difficult for the other strikers to keep up with his performances”, he added.
The manager, although, praised Aguero but he considered team achievements to be more important than individual accolades but it will be great if the golden boot and golden gloves lands at Manchester City.
“Team achievements are more important but after that it’s good to have the top scorer with Kun or maybe the Golden Gloves with Joe Hart”, said Pellegrini.
