Pakistan’s former captain, Wasim Akram said that Pakistan have the same side that defeated West Indies recently, but the series against New Zealand will be a totally different ball game.

“It is the same team that won against West Indies, although it was a very average team, but, it does not mean that Pakistan team’s performance was not good, they performed extremely well,” he said while talking to media on Monday.

“New Zealand is a different ball game,” he added, “There are different pitches, there is a different mindset, so this tour and Australia’s tour will be a test of their skill level.”

The Sultan of Swing accepted the fact that Pakistan are currently second ranked side in ICC test ranking, but, their upcoming tours will be very important.

“These two tours (New Zealand and Australia) are very important, if we beat New Zealand, we have a good chance defeat Australia as they are demoralized after conceding two massive losses against South Africa,” he further said.

The 50-year old was pleased that Pakistan’s men and women teams and New Zealand’s teams are safe in Christchurch after the severe earthquake.
