The name of the sixth team has not been finalized yet, however, fans want the new team to be named after Kashmir.
There was a dire need of adding the sixth team in the tournament to make the playoffs more meaningful. However, the five franchises were reluctant with the addition of a new team due to a possible cut in their profit margin. Board had a contract with the franchise that a new team will not be added before PSL 2018.
The first edition of the league was won by Islamabad United under Misbah Ul Haq’s captaincy, whereas, Peshawar Zalmi won PSL 2017 under Darren Sammy’s leadership.
