Shadab requests ticketed crowd to follow COVID-19 SoPs

KARACHI: Islamabad United’s captain and national cricketer Shadab Khan urged fans to follow COVID-19 SoPs in the stadium during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 6.

Speaking to the media here at a local university on Wednesday, Khan said it was a good decision by the government to allow a limited crowd during PSL 6 as fans wanted to watch live cricket in these tough times.

“I am excited to see the crowd in the stadium once again. It will be limited but it is better than nothing. I am sure people are excited too but I would like to request them to follow all COVID-19 SoPs as it will strengthen the chances of an increase in the number of people in the stadium possibly later in the event,” he said.

It must be noted here that the National Command Operation Centre (NCOC) allowed 20 per cent crowd on the special request of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). In Karachi, 7500 ticketed audience will be allowed in the stadium per match whereas, in Lahore, the maximum capacity is 5500 in each match.
