Shadab’s injury ruled him out of first ODI against Zimbabwe


Rawalpindi: Newly appointed vice-captain of the national team in white-ball format, Shadab Khan has been ruled out of first ODI against Zimbabwe which is scheduled here on October 30. 

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s medical team confirmed that the all-rounder will not be available for the first game as he is suffering from stiffness in his left upper-leg. Remember, he got injured during the first intra-squad warm-up match in Lahore on 23 October.

Shadab will continue to be treated and rehabilitation regime and a further update will be provided ahead of the second ODI.

It must be noted here that Zimbabwe is currently in Pakistan for playing three ODIs and T20Is in COVID-19 times. ODI series between the two countries is part of ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.
