Pakistan’s key spinner, Yasir Shah has caught a back injury during a practice session ahead of series against Australia and he is likely to miss the day/night practice game against Cricket Australia XI.
Doctors have advised him rest for two days, he will sit out during the three-day practice game, which is to commence from December 8.
Yasir was training with the squad the Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns on Tuesday when he sustained the injury.
Mohammad Nawaz is the only specialist spinner in the squad other than Shah, so he is likely to play in the side match against Cricket Australia XI.
Yasir Shah has bagged 116 wickets in 20 test matches so far. He is joint second-fastest bowler to reach 100 wickets, he got there in 17 test matches.
