Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced via a press release that Shaharyar Khan has invited legendary cricketers of the country to a round-table conference to resolve the problems with Pakistan cricket.
As per the press release, the conference is to take place on March 6 and 7, just the next day of PSL 2017 final, which will be played in Lahore.
The conference will be headed by Shaharyar Khan, whereas, the head of selection committee Inzamam Ul Haq and Director Academies Mudassar Nazar will co-chair it. Mushtaq Ahmed, head coach of NCA is given the responsibilities of co-ordinator.
“The invitations will be extended to 1992 World Cup winning captain Imran Khan, Test captain Misbahul Haq, Test veteran Younus Khan, former national team head coach Waqar Younis, bowling legend Wasim Akram, batting legend Zaheer Abbas, former pacer Shoaib Akhtar, former captains Aamir Sohail, Javed Miandad, Rashid Latif, Ramiz Raja, Moin Khan, former spinner Abdul Qadir, former bowling coach Aaqib Javed, Iqbal Qasim, former cricketer Bazid Khan, and veteran off-spinner Saeed Ajmal and several others. Chairmen of committees and Board of Governors will also be invited,” read the press release.
The issues that are to be discussed in the conference are: `Improving teams’ performances, domestic structure, improvement of pitches, coaching of national and junior teams and encouragement to foreign teams to tour Pakistan.
Surprisingly, no one from the coaching staff has been invited.
