Pakistan’s former Olympian, Manzoor Ul Hassan has criticized the secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), Shahbaz Ahmed Senior, for not delivering in his three-year tenure so far.
“Despite holding the post for the last three years, he [Shahbaz Ahmed Sr] has not delivered so far in his tenure,” Manzoor Ul Hassan told.
The hockey legend further blamed the current secretary for politicising the sport in Pakistan and urged him to encourage the district and club authorities to work for the betterment of hockey.
“Shahbaz Sr is responsible for politicising hockey,” he said. “Instead of doing politics at the district and club level, he should encourage them to work,” he added.
He advised Shahbaz Ahmed to decide his future, he told that a great player cannot necessarily be a good administrator.
He even asked fans to not expect much from Pakistan during the upcoming Asian Games.
“Expecting much from Pakistan team during the Asian Games will be unfair,” he went on to say. “There has been favouritism everywhere, from team selection association’s elections, ” he concluded.
