Lahore: Pakistan team management had rested Test performers Mohammad Rizwan, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Faheem Ashraf during the team’s first practice session ahead of T20I series against South Africa.
Pakistan and South Africa reached Lahore last night to play three T20Is against each other from February 11 here at Gaddafi Stadium. Both teams held their first training session today in floodlights with players taking part in batting, bowling, and fielding drills.
Meanwhile, few of the Pakistani players were given rest to make them fresh before the shorter format series. Those players include Mohammad Rizwan who was the player-of-the-Test series, Hasan Ali who took 10-wicket haul in the second Test, Shaheen Shah Afridi who bowled a superb spell on Day 5 of the last Test, and Faheem Ashraf who showed all-round performance throughout.
Pakistan and South Africa will play three T20Is at the same venue on February 11, 13, and 14.
