Manager of Pakistan cricket team Intikhab Alam has blamed captain Shahid Afridi for Pakistan dismal show at the Asia Cup and World T20 in India.
In his report Intikhab Alam has said Shahid Afridi is wholly responsible for the team’s poor show and he believes that the experienced all rounder does not a thing about captaincy and his statement on ‘More love for India’ did not go down well within the team and his team mates were clearly demoralized over this controversial issue. He also said that Afridi’s made some cardinal errors when on the field because for instance he brought for bowling when the match was out of their grip against India.
He added that the team lacked in all areas of the game i.e bowling, batting and fielding and the added pressure of playing in India played on the minds of the players involved.
Intikhab Alam said that Sarfraz Ahmed was not properly utilized by the team and including Umar Akmal in the team was a big mistake because he does not have the proper skill set to play this game and lacks the attitude that is required to excel at the highest level.
Meanwhile it is expected that Pakistan cricket board is all set to sack head coach Waqar Younis and the selection committee headed by Haroon Rasheed.
