Pakistan’s former all-rounder Shahid Afridi hailed Shoaib Malik’s impressive knock against Afghanistan in a contest of Asia Cup 2018 played in Abu Dhabi that earned his team a thrilling victory.
Chasing 258 runs, Pakistan were six down for 226 runs with run-rate constantly creeping up. It was Shoaib Malik’s class, experience and composure that took Pakistan home with a six and a four in the last of the in the inning, where the team needed 10 runs to win.
Malik was named Man of the Match for his calculated 43-ball 51 run inning at a crucial stage.
Former captain Shahid Afridi praised Afghanistan’s resilience in the match while he lauded Malik’s effort and Pakistan’s win.

He also appreciated battling knocks of Imam Ul Haq (104-ball 80) and Baba Azam (94-ball 66) which played an instrumental role in Pakistan’s win.
Pakistan will have their second face-off of Asia Cup 2018 with their arch-rivals India on Sunday. The Men in Blue dominated The Men in Green in all aspects of the game in their first bout of the tournament on 19th, winning it by eight wickets.
