Abid, Shan centuries put Pakistan upfront at stumps on Day 3


Openers Abid Ali and Shan Masood 278 run stand have put the hosts upfront at the stumps on Day 3 against Sri Lanka in the second Test in Karachi. Pakistan finished the day on 395-2 and are now 315 runs ahead of the visitors.

Abid and Shan now hold a record of 2nd highest opening wicket-partnership by the Pakistani openers. Abid Ali continues his purple patch as he scores a mammoth 174 runs and became the first Pakistani and ninth overall to score Test hundreds in the first two matches of Test career.

Shan Masood (135) scored a ton after four years. He has scored both the hundreds against Sri Lanka. Lahiru Kumara claimed the only two wickets.

Skipper Azhar Ali (57*) scored a Test fifty after a span of a year and 14 innings. He is on the crease along with ICC ranked number 9 Test batsman Babar Azam who is on 22.

Pakistan resumed the day at 57-0 and after that, the opening duo of Abid and Shan started to change their gears at regular intervals. Sri Lankan bowlers looked in disarray.
