Shoaib Akhtar worries for Pakistan ahead of World Cup 2019

Pakistan’s former speedster Shoaib Akhtar is worried for Pakistan ahead of the all-important World Cup as the bench strength of the team has been failed to resist against Australia in the ongoing five-match ODI series in the UAE.

“Disappointed by Pakistan’s performance against Australia,” tweeted Akhtar for a newly-looked Pakistani bunch who have already been knocked down by the Aussies and lost the ODI series 3-0 with two more games to go.

Akhtar further said it was the time to get prepared for the mega event, which is to start from May 30 in England and Wales, instead of experimenting the bench strength.

“It was too close to the World Cup to check bench strength,” Akhtar’s tweet said.

The fastest bowler ever to play cricket asked the team management and the boys to gain their lost focus before the World Cup as the nation want something exciting from them in the multi-nation cricketing event. “Team needs to get their focus back before the World Cup,” he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the team management had decided to give rest to their front line players including regular captain Sarfraz Ahmed before the extravagant cricket event in England. Shoaib Malik was given the charge of the team which aimed to fill in a couple of spots for WorldĀ Cup more than winning the series against Australia.
